About

A small crew. Built on referrals.

Debmagro is what happens when a third-generation builder gets stubborn about doing fewer projects, better. We've been at it in Cypress for 18 years, and 7 in 10 of our jobs come from someone we've already built for.

Portrait of Reynard Mitchell

Reynard's story.

I grew up in Lufkin, Texas. My dad framed houses on weekends to make rent and I held the dumb end of the tape measure starting at about age nine. By high school I was on his crew every summer and most weekends.

I came to Houston in 2003 to study construction management at San Jacinto and ended up running a remodel crew for a custom builder up in The Woodlands. Four years there taught me what to do — and a couple of bad GCs taught me what not to.

I started Debmagro in 2007 out of the garage at our first house in Cypress. My wife Mano runs the office (and answers your emails). My nephew Marcus came on as lead carpenter in 2014. Most of our subs have been with us a decade or more.

I'm on every job. Not as a salesman who shows up to close — as the guy who's actually cutting your check to the framer. If something is off, you don't have to chase anyone. My cell number is on your contract.

What we believe.

Show up.

Start dates we can keep beat start dates we can't. We don't book past our capacity, ever.

Write it down.

Fixed-price contracts. Every change order priced and signed before a saw runs.

Build it once.

We use materials we'd put in our own homes — James Hardie, GAF, Andersen, Kohler, Cambria.

Be findable.

You'll have one project manager you can text. We answer.

Clean up daily.

Crew sweeps and stages tools at end of day. Your driveway is your driveway.

Stand behind it.

Two-year workmanship warranty in writing. We come back.

Where we draw the line.

We don't take every job, and we'll be honest about it. We don't do commercial work, we don't do quick flips, and we won't bid against four other contractors in a race to the bottom.

We will sit on your back porch with you, walk through what you actually want, and tell you whether we're the right fit. If not, we'll point you toward someone who is.
